My Absolute Favorite Supplies I Use for Bullet Journaling

Hey everyone! Welcome back to a new week! So, I previously wrote on bullet journal basics (since it seemed a lot of you didn’t know what it was). I also wrote about my favourite notebooks, and compared different notebooks between quality and price. Today, we’re going to talk about some of my favorite bullet journaling supplies that I use every single day. These things can be used for planning in general; not just with a bullet journal!!

THE NOTEBOOK:

My all time favourite is the Scribbles That Matter because I love the 100 GSM paper weight. The size depends on how portable I want my journal to be. If I know I won’t be carrying it that much, I’ll opt for the B5; otherwise, I stick with the A5. https://amzn.to/3hBHIUS

HIGHLIGHTERS:

All around, hands down best are the Zebra Mildliner brand because they’re so soft and beautiful. There are a total of 25 colors, (which other highlighter brand can say that?), and the pens each have a dual end. One end is the highlighter part, and the other side is a fine marker tip. To top all that, the Mildliner are very aesthetically pleasing which is why you see them all over instagram. https://amzn.to/2Uf03hF

MARKERS:

Crayola Supertips are extremely cheap and affordable, and when they break down, are super easy to replace. You can get a 100 color pack for under $20 CAD. They last forever (I’ve had mine for 3 years, and they’re like new), and you can even use the mild, light colors as highlighters if you wish. If you hold the tip right, they can also be used to hand letter. https://amzn.to/3ekqiKa

LARGE BRUSH MARKERS:

I wanted to include two sizes of brush markers here since they can both be used for different things. Of course, my all time favourites are the Tombow Dual Brush Markers. They have two ends - a large brush tip and a small bullet point tip. You can use them for a multitude of things: highlighting, coloring, hand lettering, and drawing. You can also blend them with water to turn them into watercolor (if you blend from a palette).* https://amzn.to/2UgjAy2

SMALL BRUSH PENS:

Pentel Fude Touch Brush Pens are amazing! They are super easy to use, and I would use them mostly for creating small headers that I hand letter in my bullet journal. Also, the black Tombow Fudenosuke soft or hard tip has a place here because it’s used so often in my arsenal. The Tombows are a bit drier, but are not water based so tend to stay put if you are a left hander, or if you highlight over top. The Pentels are water based and are so juicy and vibrant. https://amzn.to/3B37fht, https://amzn.to/3B0uIQt

PEN:

My all time favorite is my Pentel Energel Needle Tip Black Ink Gel Pen in 0.7mm. My personal pen is an alloy metal barrel (the pink one to support breast cancer). The money helps to support a worthy cause, the barrel is heavier than the cheaper ones, and can be re-used. I like the 0.7mm because I like darker writing. The ink for this pen does not smear since it dries so quickly, and you can run a highlighter over it and it does not smear. Next would have to be the Papermate Ink Joy Black Gel Pen, 0.7mm since it is so comfortable to hold. However, the ink bleeds like crazy. https://amzn.to/3B4jSbU, https://amzn.to/3ib9hDv, https://amzn.to/3wAxMPK

THE EXTRAS:

White Out: because we all make mistakes :) https://amzn.to/3klorJe

Tombow Mono Adhesive: for gluing down photos or pictures in your bullet journal. https://amzn.to/3B3sf7G, https://amzn.to/3rbZRfh

6 “ Ruler: This smaller size is more manageable and more portable than a larger ruler and it helps to create those beautiful straight lines. https://amzn.to/3iakFiT

A Circle Maker: I Like the circle one since it is more portable than a stencil and can make any size circle that you need. https://amzn.to/3en8w9h

Small Scissors: Perfect for cutting dutch doors in your bullet journal and other tid bits you might want to paste in. https://amzn.to/36ztTjh

Washi Tape: You can find washi tape anywhere, but my fave is from Simply Gilded. Irene’s designs and colors are so beautiful, but it’s the quality and the amount you get on every roll that really wows. So, if you have a little extra money to fork out on washi tape, I suggest you check out www.simplygilded.com.

I hope you enjoyed my list of favorite supplies. Let me know in the comments what you like to use in your bullet journals!

See you next time!
