New Year Planner Love

Even though we are well past the new year by now, at the time of writing (December 31st, 2024), I have the best positive feelings.

It started when I was putting my planners together and getting them all ready for the start of 2025. Since I have an online presence, I set up my planners a little earlier than some. I need time to ensure I can film and edit my content before it goes live. That being said, my planner setup videos are posted before Jan 1.

One day, while I was working in my planner, I was multitasking and watching a live Planner’s Anonymous video. It was the one where Sami and Jaimie were reminiscing about the past year; Chapters specifically. (That was the name of the subscription they created for the entire year.) Just hearing them talking renewed my excitement for Planners Anonymous products and playing in my planners in general.

I remember the feeling of first coming across and getting into Planners Anonymous and the expectation of receiving my first subscription, playing with the stickers and setting up my planners for the month. It was one of the best feelings ever!

The entire rest of the day after watching this particular Planners Anonymous live, I just felt so excited and hopeful for the upcoming year. That feeling of excitement where you open up a brand new text book, a brand new planner - it’s difficult to explain, but for all of you in the Planner Community, I’m sure you know what I mean.

I carried this feeling with me throughout the day, and I started prepping my business planner for the upcoming year. I had so much inspiration and motivation to just start, but I also held myself back because we aren’t quite done with 2024.

I think it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of the new year and be all excited to start fresh. I think it’s important though that we spend some time on reflection. That’s actually what I did the day I wrote this (on Dec. 31st). I wrote out reflections for the month of December, Quarter four and the entire year.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like it’s this weird transition between Christmas and the New year - almost like a worm hole. I always conveniently forget that there’s an entire week between the two! It’s like my mind skips over that part. As soon as Christmas is over, I’m done with the holidays and all the decorations need to come down and I’m ready for a clean house. As a matter of fact, I almost feel like doing a complete spring clean at this point!

I’m hoping that we can make 2025 the best year yet. I’ve got my goals solidified (at least for the next twelve weeks), and I’m ready to get to work and see what possibilities evolve as we get underway.

I hope all the best for you - in your planners, your work and with your families. Work hard, play safe, and let’s make the most of our time, and reach our lofty goals!

Cheers and Happy New Year (a couple of months late!)

Sandra
