Organizing My Planner Cart
I recently added a project to my inbox list of tidying and organizing my planner cart. Basically, what it had turned into was a holding place for all of my used and unused planner kits from Planners Anonymous and Cocoa Daisy.
Most people use a planner cart beside their planner space to hold the items they use all the time. In my circumstance, I already have a substantial desk space with multiple drawers for that purpose. To top it off, I have a two and four year old, so it’s necessary to keep the drawers inaccessible to them. That also includes my planner cart. A number of years ago, I had to move it up onto the mid-stair landing so the kiddos wouldn’t get into it. It didn’t make sense to have it up there and to keep items in it that I would constantly need, so I turned it into more of a long-term storage area.
As I’m sure anyone who also gets subscriptions in the mail would know, they quickly add up and also take up a lot of room if you don’t use (or completely use up) a kit. Also, the way in which some of my kits are stored has changed over the years, so they took up the entire cart!
I ended up making a detailed list of all the kits I have from all companies, and am currently keeping that in my planner. I detailed the time they were released, what Tombow colors matched with it and what time of year each kit would work well in.
Then, I took all of 2024 and preceding years’ kits down to my basement to yet another storage area where they will stay until I need to use them.
My planner cart now carries a few Happy Planner sticker books on the top shelf (only my very favourite ones), various pouches of stickers, die cuts and notes on the middle shelf and the remainder is empty. As 2025 progresses, I will fill up the empty space with my Planners Anonymous and Cocoa Daisy Kits.
When it comes to Cocoa Daisy, I usually consolidate all the kits I buy into one or two packages. I usually end up with at least two of the storage pouches. They should be able to fit on the middle shelf, and the Planners Anonymous will go on the bottom.
What do you keep on your planner cart? How do you organize it?
Thanks for reading and we’ll see you next week!
