The End of Janes Agenda Masterplan & The End of a Year-Long Goal
Hello and welcome! It doesn’t seem that long ago when I started Janes Agenda Masterplan 365 Class. I was so excited! I felt like it was a such a positive thing at the time. I had always wanted to work on my personal and professional development in the past and just never made time for it. I wanted something that was a bit more structured and guided rather than just doing something on my own.
In reflection, I had months where I felt like I got a lot out of it, and then there were times where I didn’t. There were also times I stressed myself out trying to read both books each month when I had a lot going on with work and my family life.
I think one of the biggest things for me is in the goal setting aspect. I think sometimes we set really high aspirations or goals and then feel let down when we don’t accomplish them. I didn’t do that to myself with this course. I didn’t let myself think how an entire year is a lot to commit to. I took it month by month, week by week and day by day, right to the end. Looking back, I don’t feel like I tackled anything really.
In saying that, I think we should also give credit where credit’s due. When we have a lot going on - work, family, personal things, it’s hard to add another thing to your plate, even if it’s only a couple hours a week. Time is gold and giving any away is sometimes hard to do.
Sticking this through to the end should be celebrated. I don’t have to throw a huge party, but it does feel a little anticlimactic. I’ve dedicated those hours to this course and my reading for an entire year. Now I’m wondering what to do. (Like I have all the time in the world or something).
I would like to say I’m proud of myself for taking this course. I’m proud of all of us who tackle something that may or may not feel like a big pay-off in the end, and we do it anyway. That’s something to be proud of no matter which way you look at it.
Personally, I already feel comfortable in the motivation and productivity department (productivity and goal setting are my specialities after all), but I still learned new things. I learned about new techniques I can take away and add to my tool kit for a better me. Some of the things I learned I can put in use in my family and everyday interactions as well.
In the end, I’m really glad I participated in and took the Janes Agenda 365 Masterplan class. Let me know what your experience was!
Cheers,
Sandra
