My Personal Curriculum Review and Outcome for Quarter 3, 2026

My Personal Curriculum Review and Outcome for Quarter 3, 2026

As promised, here I am to give you an update on how my personal curriculum goal went over the course of the past three months. In short form - it didn't. I can happily report to you that I failed miserably. Why am I happy about that? It means I can improve and only do better the next time I try. I think that positive mindset is important when you set any goal.

Going into the start of quarter three, I did have a late start on my personal curriculum. I set up July probably into mid-July. Here's a picture of how that setup went.

I set up the month beautifully, and I did the prep work for the monthly dashboard and tending list. But do you see any follow up with the habit tracking? Any checking off of boxes? Not one? Yup - neither do I!

The same for August and September. (See below).

Another picture of July shows how I was excited to try and accomplish everything - I tried to squish all the things into my schedule. Needless to say, only a handful of them got done!

This is an accurate depiction of what actually happened! As you can see, I stopped filling in the weeks entirely. It just felt like too much work.

Looking Ahead:

So I happen to have a second 90 day Powersheets available, and I want to try again for Quarter four. Since the last fiasco, I've had quite a schedule change and we're back to school now. I have more time available to me on a personal level now as my two oldest children are back to school full days. Never underestimate the distracting power of kids!

I have begun to set up the new power sheets. Actually, I never wrote out any of the quarterly goals - I started planning the monthly calendar and dash board directly. I had the previous Powersheets to reference for the goals.

I may not love actual fall where I live (it's cold and windy, and the snow usually comes by Halloween), but I love the colours that we can plan with. The month of October really inspired me here as seen below.

I think the thing I find hardest right now is the transition between these pages and adding them to the weekly plan. These 90 day power sheets have a weekly section as you saw above. I can write the information and my goals, plans and tasks down there, but I don't go back to check in. It's almost like I need to go into my daily task manager (Franklin Planner) and write it down daily to check. Either that, or write all the tasks I have planned each day from my 90 day goal planner into my Franklin.

My hope for this upcoming and final quarter of 2026 is that I can somehow bridge that transition for myself. I am really going to buckle down and try to focus on this task, because being my personal curriculum, this has become my personal mission and is very important to me.

I need to get used to this type of system, because I understand that MakseLife is very similar in it's layout. As you may have heard, Cultivate What Matters is going to be ending by December 2026 and I am moving to a new system for the New Year. The Makeselife Goal Planner goes on sale October 20, 2026, so here I come!!

Thanks so much for reading this week. If this has sparked some interest in you, I challenge you to check out a video from Makselife (see it here) about how to set up your own personal curriculum using the MakeseLife Goal Planner.

We'll see you next week!
