All About Me

My Unconventional Hobbies As a Kid
Hello! Here we are, back to talking about me again! I was thinking the other day about what my kids like to do. Of course in this day and age, it’s all about video games and YouTube. But when I was growing up in the late eighties and nineties, we didn’t have cell phones, iPads or that many channels on tv for that matter. So what was a kid to do? I grew up in a safer area than where I live today. Kids could go out on the street... Read more...
My Personal Pet Peeves
Hello! Welcome to this week’s blog! Today, I want to do a “get to know me” exercise. You know how you get super annoyed with people when they do a certain thing? It’s different for everyone, but I’m going to talk about as many as I can think of. Here we go!   When people talk over you. Does this even need any explanation? The problem is, I have people in my family that do this, so it’s something I experience all the time. Each time, I try to gently... Read more...
Twenty Postive Things About Me
Hello! So things around here (at the time of writing) have been super hectic and stressful, so I read somewhere that it’s good to journal about some of the positive things you like about yourself. Now, you know me - I’m generally an open book, and I thought what better place to write something like this, than in my "All About Me” Section of my blog. That way, you get to know me a little better too. Just remember, what I say to be a positive thing about me,... Read more...
My Go-To Writing Styles
I was reviewing some of my work the other day, (which is important to do by the way) and realized that my blogs generally fall into three categories. I enjoy writing ‘How-To’s’, usually planner related because that’s my main passion in life. The next style is ‘insightful philanthropic’ type stories. These are the ones where I’ll read them back weeks later, when they’re ready to post to the public and I will surprise myself even at just how insightful they are. The last main type is ‘filler-fluff’. These are generally... Read more...
My Summer 2022 Local Alberta Travels
Hello and welcome back to this week’s blog! Today, I’m going to tell you what I did last summer and all the places I visited with my family. Sometimes it’s cool to visit places in and around close to where you are from. You never know what hidden gems you may find. In my case, most of these places I had visited in prior years, so I kind of knew what I was getting into. The summer of 2022 was probably the most we’ve ever travelled in one season before.... My Quarter Two Goal Review : How the First Half of 2022 Has Gone
Hey friends! Welcome back. Today, I want to talk about my goals for the last quarter and the last half a year. Normally, this is something that I write down in my journal or Cultivate What Matters Goal Planner, but I thought it would be helpful for those of you goal setters out there to see how my thought process works. First off, I get bored very easily. I have been more intentional with my goals this year, and I have been aiming for goals that take 12 weeks or... Read more...
Why I Feel Like I’m Part of Generation X & Not a Millennial
Good morning! Welcome to my weekly blog! Today, I want to talk about something that bothers me. It bothers me to be placed into a statistical category that doesn’t suit me at all. I remember studying basic sociology back in my undergrad, and I used to wonder at the statistics and how data was gathered. I always believed in the facts - what was, was, and there was nothing you could do to change it. For some reason, one morning, I found myself thinking about my generation and I feel... Read more...
My Karaoke Journey
Hi! My name is Sandra, and I love karaoke! I don’t think I have ever really told anyone this story, but here we go! It all started when… When I was a young girl, I was obsessed with singing. I sang everywhere I could and my best friend and I even started a “singing group”, even though she couldn’t hold a tune to save her life. We were in Grade 5 at the time, and I remember us putting on a show for our moms, who were having coffee one... Read more...
This Is Me!
Where to begin? I could start at the very beginning, when I was growing up. But wait…that’s not what this is. This is not a biography. It IS going to... Read more...
