Changing Things Up With Planner Perfect?

So as followers of Planner Perfect may know, Jenny, the founder and owner of the company has made big changes this past summer (2026). She used to offer a variety of sizes in her travellers notebooks, and she made the big switch to B6 and A5 sizes only. As well, she used to offer a monthly subscription box, but has since changed it to something that you can buy online as a one time purchase each month. This product is also offered only in A5.

To get rid of her product, she had a very nice sale on the civic holiday long weekend. Prices were up to 75% off, but as far as I could see, most items were at that 75% level. It was crazy! I can guarantee that everyone who bought something was made very happy that weekend. Not only getting products we have grown to love, but getting them at a steal of a deal.

I was no exception - I had to take advantage of that sale. Along with that came certain challenges. While I have (maybe) been interested in other TN sizes, I never strayed from my first size of wide. Wide is called an A5 slim, and the dimensions are 5 X 8.5 inches. It's wider than a standard sized TN (also called a narrow in Planner Perfect) and slimmer than an A5.

So...there were a few TN's that I couldn't find in size wide. I really wanted a couple though (if you know Planner Perfect, some of the leathers that came out were exquisite, and if you know you know!) So, I decided to bite the bullet and I got the following leathers in narrow.

  • Sangria
  • Jade

In addition to these, Jenny sold the Everyday Wallet which was also a size narrow. This wallet is meant to be used as a wallet, but it's also a phone holder and holds two TN books (as opposed to the four that a conventional TN would carry). So in these types of TN's, it might be useful to carry grocery lists, expenses, plain notebook, etc...

The wallets I picked up were:

  • Molly
  • Azura
  • Isla

Then, there were the personal sized TN's. These came in the form of the errand runner. With these, I only picked up two as these seemed to go pretty quickly. The two I got were the croc edit line:

  • Isla
  • Espresso
  • Mint (not in sale)

So, currently, the books I put in my wide travellers notebook are:

  • My yearly planner (to be used as a future log for appointments that are not in the current month along with a habit tracker and some other health trackers in the blank pages between months and at the end of the book).
  • My monthly plan book (contains my monthly calendar, goals, and weekly plans along with scripting daily).
  • My morning pages.
  • My grocery list and notes book.
  • My health book notes and such for me and that of my entire family.

My travellers notebook started out as a system that I could take with me on the go (technically replacing my bullet journal at the time or my compact Franklin Planner). I do keep my classic Franklin mostly at home, and that book is my catch-all for my entire life. I would not consider it to be my everyday carry. However, scripting and morning pages changed the entire system for me. Now I simply cannot live without it just like my Franklin planner.

However...now that I have these other books, I was wondering if I should switch it up a bit to see if I like it. Hmm...

A few thoughts:

  • I enjoy keeping my monthly plan book in my wide TN (keep in mind that I have the majority of my leathers in that size, and it would be the size I continue to switch out each month and also share on YouTube).
  • I now have to plan ahead even more than I already do...since I have three TN's in the size narrow, if I wanted to use a particular leather for a certain month, I would have to make sure I have that monthly plan book in the size narrow If I wanted to use the narrow size for that month. (September screams Marigold!)
  • But...if I do that, do I want to have a yearly book in wide AND narrow? And do I want to duplicate information all the time? Probably not...
  • Narrow books CAN fit into wide leathers (but not vice versa). So do I want to just buy narrow books ALL the time and use them with either my wide or narrow TN's?
  • I'm used to wide size, and it might not seem like it, but that extra bit of less than an inch really can make all the difference. It's going to seem like a lot less room in a narrow book.
  • BUT! If I was in a narrow one month and used narrow books, I could easily transfer those to my everyday wallets which are also size narrow.
  • Do I want my everyday wallet always filled with different books? By that I mean something that is independent of my TN I keep at home? And If I continued to use the wallet, would that mean my TN would become irrelevant to be used as an every day carry?
  • I no longer need a grocery book/ notes book in my TN - it never gets used since I started using 'Our Groceries' app again on my phone. So technically this book could go into my everyday wallet along with a book for notes on the go (or a yearly planner to capture those future log appointments. On the times I want to use another wallet, I'll still be able to take my wide/narrow TN and they will work independently of each other.
  • If my little errand runner comes into play...I could carry the yearly planner )for future log appointments, a notebook for random notes, a mini sized common book for on the go, and a notebook for expenses. This errand runner has space for coins, money and cards and it's smaller than the Everyday wallet and doesn't take up a lot of room, so is more ideal in smaller bags.

For those of you who also have different sizes, how do you use yours? Do you change them out all the time and just keep different book sizes on you? I would love to know, so please feel free to leave me a comment on this blog!

Thanks so much for reading and we'll see you next time!
